Garmin Xero C1 vs Labradar LX
4th Jan 2025
Compact Doppler Radar Chronographs bring a new level of ease of use with high levels of accuracy for users to obtain velocity for the ballistics of their ammunition in their rifles.
Two of the leading brands in this field are Labradar, who designed the first Doppler Radar Chronograph and Garmin.
With Ballistics there have always been 2 major figures - Velocity and BC
Velocity has always been practical to measure for many many years with the invention of the Chronograph and now Radars just make it very simple and very accurate.
BC however was a different story
To Measure BC you only have 3 options
- High Powered Radars - Very Expensive
- Time of Flight - Such as the System 89, expensive, has to be setup right (We have one of these)
- Manually Shooting Targets - Expensive on Ammo, Barrel Life, time and requires very accurate long range shooting at very known ranges
Until NOW
Only the Labradar LX gives you G1 and G7 BC readings - the Garmin cannot
Is BC important? Yes it is - its a ballistics fundamental required figure and it counts for any range over your point blank range (Point and shoot)
So they answer is very simple, the Labradar is the ONLY chrono to have - given they are similar size, accurate (had some issues with .17 HMR with the GARMIN) and importantly are the same price - there isn't anything else to really consider!
